Lin Hurdwell and “Bessie”

Lin Hurdwell and “Bessie”

I am an older, retired widow, living in a small village in Ascot with an adult son and cocker spaniel. The many dog walks in the country often gives me time to dream up stories to write. Also previous work within Social service mainly with the learning disability and children has given me an insight into the unseen problems of many people. I have always been a 'writer', since infant school. I joined Slough Writers about ten/eleven years ago, and enjoy being part of a band of like minded people. Have often yearned to write a best seller, but have never managed a whole novel. Generally write short stories for magazines and luckily had quite a few published in My Weekly magazine, and Yours magazine. Won a competition in “Writing magazine” and also have various stories published in a small press Scribble. It has given me hope and some confidence with my writing. Also I write poetry which helps me organise my emotions
