Harvey Martin, a writer now for about 8 years, 5 of which as a member of Slough Writers. I began writing short stories; but just recently reading and writing a host of poems; about 200 so far, and have had limited success, winning the Writers forum poetry comp November 2020. I have also been highly commended 3 times. I have also featured in Early Works press, a short story and a poem,

I always enter the Slough Writers in-house competitions for poetry and short stories, and have come second and third in the poetry comps over the years. I also read a short story on Wycombe Sound. I'm a regular with my poetry on Christian themes in “The Missionary Magazine” of the Comboni Missionaries.

I am now retired and hope to write and paint more. I am considering looking again at a novel I started some years ago, I read a lot of crime fiction and many of my stories contain a dead body or two. The themes of my poetry vary greatly; but are influenced by my Christian faith and my life experience and contemporary happenings in the news. I love the feedback from sharing work with other writers.
